Li Min Chen, MD PhD Associate Professor

Dr. Li Min Chen is currently a Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, USA. Dr. Chen obtained her medical degree in 1989 and then finished her post-doctoral training at the Yale School of Medicine in 2002. Dr. Chen uses a combination of multiparametric MRI (including functional MRI, CEST, qMT, and DTI), microelectrode electrophysiology and microsimulation, and tract-tracing histology to study the brain and spinal cord functions in non-human primates. Dr. Chen’s research centers on identifying brain and spinal networks, understanding the neural mechanisms that are responsible for touch and pain perception, developing non-invasive imaging biomarkers for spinal cord injury, and investigating how these mechanisms contribute to the recovery of sensorimotor functions after spinal cord injury in primates.
