Understanding the physiological effects and cellular response to neurostimulation is critical to improve our scientific understanding and optimize the efficacy of neurostimulation technologies. Therefore, this session will describe the cellular effects of neurostimulation therapies in a variety of contexts. It will include cortical stimulation, deep brain stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and spinal cord stimulation. The session will study the effects of stimulation using several methods, such as in vivo and ex vivo experimental measurements, optical imaging, and computational modeling.
