Dr. Scheman is the Director of Behavioral Medicine Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute and a member of CCF staff since July, 1995. Prior to her present position she was the Director of Psychology, Research and Education and Director of the Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program, and held a joint appointment in the Center for Spine Health. She is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine of the Case Western Reserve University. She is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, is the first non-MD to hold a position on the board, and is co-chair of the Pain Psychology task force and co-founder and co-chair of the Pain Psychology Special Interest Group and serves on the Membership Committee. She received her BS in Psychology from the University of Washington, M.A. and Ph.D. from Kent State University in Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Medicine.
