Wael Asaad, MD PhD Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Neuroscience

Dr. Asaad is associate professor of neurosurgery and neuroscience and the Sidney A. Fox and Dorothea Doctors Fox Professor of Ophthalmology & Visual Science at Brown University. He earned his PhD from MIT in 2001 and his MD from Yale University in 2003.  He completed neurosurgery residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and moved to Brown in 2011. His lab studies frontal lobe function related to model-based learning and causal inference in nonhuman primates, and undertakes translational neuromodulation work in humans undergoing functional neurosurgery and epilepsy procedures.
