Simon J. Thomson, MBBS FRCA FIPP FFPMRCA Clinical Lead

Since 1992, he was Consultant clinical lead in Pain Medicine & anesthesia at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHSFT. In 2013 he became full-time pain medicine & neuromodulation. He served on the council of British Pain Society 2004 to 2008. He founded the Neuromodulation Society of UK and Ireland in 2001 and served two three-year terms as President of International Neuromodulation Society from 2009 to 2015. He was chair and/or co-chair of the scientific and organizing committees of four biennial INS congresses in London 2011, Berlin 2013, Montreal 2015 and Edinburgh 2017. He is the current chair of INS Research Quality Standards committee. Until 2019 he served as elected Emeritus Director of Large of the International Neuromodulation Society. He is an advisor to NHS England and NICE. Since 1993 he has been providing SCS and Intrathecal drug delivery and is active in clinical research, advocacy, training, and publishing.
