Francis Bambico, PhD Assistant Professor

Dr. Francis Bambico is an assistant professor in neuroscience. His laboratory specializes in translational neurobiology, and his research program employs neurophysiology-based approaches and rodent behavioural models of cognitive and affective disorders. For over ten years now, he has been investigating the mechanism of action of antidepressant drugs and of therapeutic brain stimulation including deep brain stimulation and transcranial current stimulation, with goals of refining region and cell selectivity. He also spearheads projects geared towards the development of novel rapid-acting pharmacotherapy. He completed his PhD in neuroscience at McGill University, and obtained postdoctoral training at Yale University and at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto.
