Ofer M. Wellisch, MD MPHAssistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology

Dr. Wellisch began his career in Pain Medicine at The Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, CA. Following his training, he continued to practice clinically and serve as teaching faculty at Stanford Hospital and Clinics.  He is currently Chief of the Division of Pain Medicine at Stamford Health in Connecticut and is Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons.Dr. Wellisch takes pride in educating and mentoring his medical students, residents and fellows. He has conducted research in Molecular Neuroscience as well as on the “patient experience.” Dr Wellisch currently conducts research focused on the therapeutic potential of peripheral acting mu opioid receptor antagonists (PAMORA) in cancer as well as on peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS).
